New rules apply from 1st January 2008 for the production and return of tachographs. 

Drivers and Operators are reminded that the period for which drivers must be able to produce tachograph charts and manual records changes again after 1 January 2008 to the current day and previous 28 days. Legislation will also be put in place to require the return of tachograph charts to the employer within 42 days.
